The Griffons did the double on Friday when their U20’s and senior side were crown champions of 2017.

It was two great matches from the Northern Free State union and they deserve all that comes there way.

The U20 Griffons team beat the U20 Limpopo Blue Bulls in their first division final early the afternoon with 29-22.

The Senior side got off to a flying start leading at one stage the Leopards 22-0 but it was a comeback from the Leopard that made the home crowd silent for 30 minutes in the middle of the match.

It was almost as if they fell asleep while the Leopards took the lead in the 50 minutes 31-25.

The Griffons then played how we expected them to do as they played all season and just took the game away in the last twenty minutes of the match scoring tries at will.

The Leopards had no answer to the tries being scored from all over the field.

At the end the Griffons won the game 60-36 and well deserved of a great season.

Next week they will take on Griquas for a promotion relegation match.
