Griquas heading to PE without Whitehead

Coming so close last week to beat the Stormers at home, the men from Kimberley will want to get that “W” behind their name against the Elephants this week.

Going into the match they will be the favourites even if they play in PE, but the way the 14-man Elephants stood up against the Lions last week, Griquas should not underestimate them.

There are a few changes to the side with Visser coning in at tighthead and Coetzee replacing Zito in the second row.

We also see Van der Merwe on the side of the scrum which means Carl Els will pack down at number eight.

In the backs Tinus de Beer gets a start ahead of Whitehead and Brandt and Kasende take their places on the wings.

With Whitehead not playing this week, Stefan Ungerer will lead the side against the Elephants.

Tafel Lager Griquas: 15 Masixole Banda, 14 Daniel Kasende, 13 Michal Haznar, 12 Andre Swarts, 11 Enver Brandt, 10 Tinus de Beer, 9 Stefan Ungerer (captain), 8 Carl Els, 7 Stefan Willemse, 6 Gideon van der Merwe, 5 Cameron Lindsay, 4 Ewan Coetzee, 3 Tijde Visser, 2 Alandre van Rooyen, 1 Mox Mxoli.

Replacements: 16 HJ Luus, 17 Andrew Beerwinkel, 18 John-Roy Jenkinson, 19 Mzwanele Zito, 20 Adre Smith, 21 Ashlon Davids, 22 Johnathan Francke, 23 James Verity-Amm, 24 Bandisa Ndlovu, 25 Raegan Oranje, 26 Harlon Klaasen.
