Guinness PRO14 – Wins for Leinster, Edinburgh and Ospreys


PRO14 matches continued this weekends with some exciting matches being played over the weekend.

Edinburgh, Ospreys and Leinster recorded wins over the weekend.

Muster 10-13 Leinster

It was a 69th minute try by Jordan Larmour that gave Leinster a hard-fought win over Munster on Saturday.

Munster was in the lead for most of the match with their only try coming from Tadhg Beirne in the fist half. They looked like they would be able to get one over the champions but Leinster showed their class to pull another win out of the bag.

With this win Leinster moved one point behind the Conference A leaders Ulster with a game in hand.

Munster still maintain a comfortable lead in Conference B with a 12-point lead with two game in hand.

Munster box-kicking was spot on this weekend and put Leinster under a lot of pressure during the match.

Zebre 10-26 Edinburgh

Even with only fourteen men Edinburgh was able to get a win over Zebre in a scrappy affair over the weekend.

Edinburgh let 10-3 at the break with a try from Bennett and points from Van der Walt boot. Zebre fought back and drew level from a try by Kearney before Van der Walt kicked three penalties to take a six points lead again.

It was Jamie Farndale try that sealed the win for the visitors even though they got a red card for Taylor with 11 minutes remaining.

With this win Edinburgh stays in fifth place in Conference B but move within six points of Scarlets that is in forth spot on the log.

Connacht 20-26 Ospreys

Ospreys had to fight back from 17-5 down at the break to take a well deserved win of 26-20 over Connacht.

North try gave Ospreys an early lead but Alex Wootton and Paul Boyle’s tries gave Connacht a 12 point lead at halftime.

After the break, Protheroe score a try before Webb also went over to give Ospreys a 19-17 lead. Fritzgerald penalty gave Connacht the lead again but Webb got over from a maul to get the winning score in the match.

This was Ospreys sixth win in seven matches
