Heineken Champions Cup Preview – It is a French affair between Toulouse and Bordeaux

The first Champions Cup semi-final this weekend sees two French sides going at each other on Saturday. Toulouse v Bordeaux-Begles is going to be a tasty contest to say the least.

The French have dominated the playoffs with three of the four teams coming out of the Top14 with only Ireland’s Leinster the other team in the playoffs going for European supremacy.

It will be the first time these two teams will meet in European competition. Toulouse have had the upper hand over Bordeaux of late winning the last six out of seven clashes between the two teams in Top 14. They also have never lost a home game against them in the competition.

Bordeaux-Begles have had a great season wining their last five games in the European Cup.

Toulouse have the history behind them, having reach the semi-final stages of the Champions Cup for the 13th time this season.

Toulouse will definitely bring it with their pack having had aa 100% scrum success rate in Europe this season. Toulouse also have the Dupoint golden card up their sleeves.

He is by far the best player the past year in the world and one of the most exciting players as well. He score tries in almost every match and control the game for Toulouse brilliantly.

The young man has made the most carries, most meters as a nine and have beaten more defenders than any other player in the competition.

Bordeaux will have to have their discipline in tack if they want to progress, having been shown five yellow cards in the season, more than any other side and conceded on average 15.5 penalties per game which is also more that twice in the competition.

Lineouts will be one aspect of the game Bordeaux will target having stolen more line outs with Pagadizaval this season. His teammate Woki is also not far behind them.

Out wide both teams have brilliant players who can make something out of nothing.
