Boland’s loss could soon be the Pumas gain as it is reported that former Boland coach Brent Janse van Rensburg has agreed to become the new head coach at the Pumas.

Janse Van Rensburg resigned from his position as head coach at Boland and is now set to take over from MJ Mentz at the Pumas after a disappointing season for the team from Nelspruit.

Mentz took over from Jimmy Stonehouse but had a terrible season in this year’s Currie Cup winning only their last game against the struggling EP Kings. It is believed that Mentz will stay on as attacking and defence coach at the union with Hein Kriek.

Janse van Resnburg helped Boland to qualify for the Currie Cup and also performed admirably with the EP Kings last year. He coached NMMU to the semi-finals of the Varsity Cup for the first time ever in 2013. Much of this years success at Boland is pointing to Janse van Rensburg and he will add great value to the Pumas next year.
