The rugby public got the sad news on Sunday of former SA Rugby CEO, Johan Prinsloo passing away after his battle with cancer.

He joined SA Rugby in 2004 and served with them until 2011 before moving on to SWD Eagles.

He was regarded as one of South Africa best administrators in the game and played a vital role in the years leading up to the 2007 World Cup and British & Irish Lions in 2009.

Before his time at SA Rugby Johan was involved in administration at the Golden Lions. He played a huge role in hosting the 1995 World Cup.

“Johan was one of the most experienced rugby administrators in South Africa, and he held an important role in the organisation in the years leading up to the victory at the Rugby World Cup in 2007, and the very successful tour of the British & Irish Lions in 2009,” said SA Rugby President Alexander.

Our thoughts and prays goes out to his family and friends
