Match Preview – Bristol Bears favorites against Bordeaux


This weekend sees the semi-finals in the European Champions Cup and Challenge Cup taking place.

On Friday we have the Bristol Bears taking on Bordeaux.

The Bears sees five changes from their side that played last weekend in the quarter final.

Siale Piutau returns to the starting XV in the midfield. In the second row Ed Holmes comes in as well as Randall at nine, Max Malins at fullback and Alapati on the wing.

Bristol will be carrying their impressive Premiership form into this crucial match and will be seen as favorites to take the win.

Bordeaux may not be mentioned in the same breath as the likes as Racing, Clermont or Toulouse but they have been impressive this season in the Top14 before the season was abandoned.

With a place in the final at stake we can expect a great match between these two sides.

Bordeaux: Ducuing, Cordero, Dubia, Seuteni, Lam; Jalibert, Lucu; Poirot, Maynadier, Tameifuna, Douglas, Swamp, Woki, Tauleigne, Petti.

Replacements: Dweba, Kaulashvili, Cobilas, Roumat, Lesgourgues, Uberti.
