It was the Hurricanes that got the win coming back a few times to beat the Blues at home 29-27.
With minutes remaining it was up to Jordie Barrett to kick the conversion and the lead 29-27. The match went back and forward on the scoreboard the whole 80 minutes which made for an exciting game.
It was a frantic start to the match after the Blues opened the scoring with a penalty t take an early lead but it was quickly changed when Laumape out sprinted Barrett to get the first try off the match.
This gave them a 7-3 lead.
With the home crowd showing their displeasure in Beauden Barrett leaving the Hurricanes for the Blues, the All Black quickly silence them when he ran the perfect line to get over for the Blues first try.
This gave the Blues the lead again of 10-7.
Laumape had another run down the touchline and this time run over Beauden Barrett and was just stopped centimeters from the line.
With the Blues getting a yellow card and the Hurricanes on the attack one would have expected them to get some points on the board but it was the Blues that sustain the pressure and with their first visit in the Hurricanes half again they drove over for try number 2.
This extended their lead to 15-7.
It did not took long before the Hurricanes hit back with a drive from their forwards as well and reduced the lead off the Blues to 14-12.
They level things up just before halftime to go into the break 15-all and all to play for in the second half.
It was the Hurricanes that took the lead in the second when Dane Coles went over the line. This gave them a 22-15 lead early on in the second half.

It was the Blues with some great play play by the forwards to open it up for Ioane to get their try and even it up again at 22-all after 58 minutes into the game.
The Blues took the lead after yet another driving maul to take the lead again in the match with a quarter of the match to go. Kurt Eklund was the man that came up with the ball.
This gave the Blues a 27-22 lead.
It was all Hurricanes in the final minutes as they kept the attack on the Blues line. It was again the forwards that got over the line. The on field decision was on the line and the TMO could not find any evidence to disallowed the try.
Jordie Barrett had to kick the conversion for the lead and nailed it to give the home side a 29-27 lead.
