Match Report – Rebels add to Waratahs misery

The Rebels added more misery to the Waratahs season beating them 33-14 on Friday’s Super Rugby AU match.

It was a convincing win for the Rebels leading them 23-0 in the first half in a dominated performance where they outclass the Tahs.

The Waratahs have to won a match in this years competition and just does not look like a team that can win at the moment.

To’omua got the Rebels going with an early penalty before Lacie Anderson got over for they first try of the match. It was brilliant from Hodge and Fa’amausili before Anders found the final pass to get over.

Matt To’omua kicked two more penalties before he scored his side second try of the match. It was some brilliant individual skills from To’omua to take the lead to 23 points.

With a commanding lead the Rebels was set for a huge win but they did not have the same intensity in the second half.

They were only able to add 10 more points in the second half with  a try by Jordan Uelese and a penalty by Hodge.

The Waratahs did manage two tries at the end of the match through Jeremy Williams and Jack Maddocks but they were really not in the match.

This was another blow for the once proud franchise who has been struggling the last couple of years.
