Match Report – Reds keep Waratahs winless in Super Rugby AU

The Reds stayed unbeaten after beating the Waratahs on Saturday 46-14 in Sydney.

It was another dominated effort from the log leaders despite some resistance from the home side early on. It may have been a much better performance from the Tahs in this one but they just made too many errors to cause any danger to the Reds.

It was Will Harrison that put the home side on the board with two penalty to give them the early 6-0 lead.

The Reds were first to cross the whitewash when Tate McDermott scored the first try of the match which also gave the Reds the lead.

That was followed up with the try from Lukhan Salakaia-Loto to extend their lead to 14-6 after O’Connor conversion.

Another penalty from O’Connor extend the lead again before Filipo Daugunu got over for their second try of the match and a 22-9 lead. That was also the scoreline when the teams went into the break.

After the break it was all Reds and they were first to score through Taniela Tupou which extended the lead to 27-9 before the Waratahs hit back with a try by William Harris.

The Reds dominated the rest of the game and scored three more tries by Alex Mafi which just took the game away from the home side.

With this result the Reds stay at the top of the log and the Waratahs still without a win at the bottom.
