The Waratahs had their best game so far in the revamp Super Rugby AU when they sweep the Reds off the field on Saturday beating them 45-12.
The Reds has been one of the favorites so far in the revamp competition but were totally outplayed on Saturday in Sydney.
Jake Gordon was the local hero scoring a hat-trick off tries to give his side a bonus point win.
There is always a bitter rivalry when teams come to Sydney and Saturday with the Reds coming to town was no different. There is a special rivalry between these two side and in a way the result is a huge surprise as the Reds came into the game as heavy favorites.
The Tahs made a magical start to the match and maintained this throughout the game and never really let the Reds back into it.
The set pieces was controlled by the Waratahs which laid the perfect foundation. Beside from Gordan hat-trick we also saw Maddocks and Newsome score for the home side.
With a 38-0 lead at the break the Reds was never really going to comeback from that.
The second half was more even and some flair gone. The Tahs made a few more opportunities but could not convert all off them.
Horton got over for the Tahs after the restart to extend the lead to 45 points but the game started to loose energy.
The Reds did get some hands on ball in the last quarter of the match and got over the line with Hardy and O’Connor.
