New Zealand Government doing all they can for test rugby in New Zealand


New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern said that Government is doing everything they can to host All Black test in New Zealand.

She said there has been discussion whether they will be able to host a tournament in the country.

New Zealand have tight arrangements at he borders and she said they need to uphold that to stop the spread of the virus.

New Zealand Rugby hopes to have some test matches against Australia and a Pacific team and also wanting to host the Rugby Championship in November and December.
The biggest problem for them at the moment is the logistical problems of securing locations for visiting teams to train while in quarantine under their strict border restrictions.
Over the weekend news broke that six Puma players tested positive for the virus does not help getting the green light for test matches in New Zealand.
The best bet at the moment for New Zealand rugby is a Bledisloe Cup series against the Wallabies but both countries have strict border restrictions at the moment.
