Preview – Hurricanes v Highlanders


The Hurricanes will host the Highlanders on Friday in the final round of matches.

For both teams it is pride they will be playing for in this last match of the season with neither able to make the final against the Crusaders.

The Highlanders have kept their team almost unchanged for this clash on Friday. Their last outing they beat the Blues at home and coach Tony Brown kept faith in this team.

In the pack only Ethen de Groot gets a start at loosened with Johnstone moving to the bench.

In the backs Punivai is injured and will be replaced by Sam Gilbert on the wing.

On the bench we see Renton coming in for Mikaele-Tu who is also unavailable due to a leg injury.

The Hurricanes has also not made a lot of changes to the side with only two in the starting XV.

Julian Savea returns to the side with Proctor promoted from the bench.

On the bench we could see a debut from Patafilo in a Hurricanes jumper.

The Hurricanes have not performed as expected in this years competition and a good performance this weekend will give them some pride back in the jersey.

The Highlanders is however a good balanced side and with Aaron Smith in that team they are ver dangerous as well.
