Preview – Vodacom Bulls v DHL Stormers

Surely when the Bulls host the Stormers at Loftus on Friday one can not call it a friendly, rather go this week with preparation match.

It is always a great matchup when the Stormers and the Bulls clash in any competition, but this time around the Stormers will come in this game as heavy underdogs against a Bulls side that have done it all in the last season.

The Bulls has also called on their more experience players to tackle the Stormers on Friday after the first two rounds they played a much inexperience side.

Trevor Nyakane will pack down with Joe van Zyl, and Gerhard Steenekamp in the front row for this one.

We also see Ruan Nortje returning to the second row as he will partner with Janko Swanepoel. On the side of the scrum Marco van Staden returns to the open side with Carr and Werner Gouws making up the back row.

In the backs we also see Cornal Hendricks and Gans in the midfield with Kriel at fullback. Madosh Tambwe and Marco Jansen van Vuren will make up the back three.

On the bench we also see Johan Grobbelaar, Jacques van Rooyen, Tim Agaba and Morné Steyn all back in the matchday 23.

The Stormers has also brought back some experience in their side for this one with Salmaan Moerat leading the side in Pretoria.

Damien Willemse, fresh off signing his new contract with Province will start at fullback with Zas and Van der Merwe on the wings to make up the back three.

We also see Pretorius coming in this week to partner Ruhan Nel in the midfield. Paul de Wet get his chance at nine as well with Kade Wolhuter as his halfback partner.

The front row for the Stormers is a brand new one with Lyons, Solomon and Sandi. They have some experience backing them up on the bench in Scarra Ntubeni and Ali Vermaak.

We also see the likes of JD Schickerling, Herschel Jantjies and Tim Swiel on the bench this weekend for the Stormers.

This is going to be a difficult one for the Stormers at Loftus against a good Bulls side. Set pieces will be interesting to watch with a new look Stormers front row.

The game will be broadcast live on SuperSport at 19:00 on Friday.
