Preview – Waratahs v Rebels

The Waratahs will take on the Rebels on Friday in the 4th Round of Super Rugby AU.

The Waratahs and Rebels are third and forth on the table at the moment chasing the Brumbies and Reds which makes this a critical clash for both teams almost halfway through the competition.

The Tahs could not build on their first win, loosing last week against the Brumbies in what would have been a frustrating result for the men from Sydney.

On the other side the Rebels got their first points off the season when they played to a draw in their last game against the Reds two weeks ago.

Overall the two sides have met 18 times in Super Rugby with the Tahs winning 15 of those matches.

Rob Penney has made a few changes to his Waratahs side for this weekend clash against the Rebels.

Agnus Bell will make his return to the starting XV on Friday alongside Abel and Johnson-Holmes.

Holloway also return in place of Swinton while Newsome comes in for Foketi in the midfield from the wing.

Jack Maddocks gets his first start for the Tahs on the wing and Clark will start on the other side replacing Nawaganitawase

For the Rebels Trevor Hosea comes into the starting XV. He has made an impression form the bench the last two outings and will be looking to show his worth in this game.

We also see Orr coming in the starting XV in place of Gibbon with Hodge back in the number 13 jumper.
