The Isuzu Southern Kings left it too late against Italian side Benetton on Saturday loosing their opening tour match in the PRO14 competition.
At the end the Italians weather the storm to beat the Kings 36-30 even though the visitors scored three late tries.
The Kings are still without a win after four rounds this season and had a great opportunity to get that first win but not taking their changes in the first half cost them at the end.
Benetton used their opportunities that came their way in the first half a they scored two tries and a penalty to lead with six points at the break.
They added three more tries in the second half which was enough to keep the Kings at bay.
With three tries from De Klerk, Hollis and De Wee the Kings left it too little to late to worry the home side.
