The Pumas waited till their last match to record their first win of the 2016 Currie Cup season when they beat the EP Kings 38-3o on Friday night in PE

The Pumas came back from an eight-point deficit to get a great win over the Kings leading by a great performance from Herne. Herne scored three tries in the match which took the lead from the Kings in the final stages of the match.

It was Lewis try that sealed it for the visitors just after the took the lead with just four minutes remaining and almost no way back for the Kings.

As per most of the matches of the Kings this year, this one will also be one they remember as a game which they lost rather than the other team winning it. The Kings struggled throughout the season to convert opportunities into points and again this was their downfall.

The Kings went into the break with a 20-19 advantage, thanks in part to the meaningful contribution from fly-half Pieter-Steyn de Wet. De Wet went on to score 20 points, 15 of them from the boot.

One must say with what the Kings had to work with and the time together they have done really well but it is still uncertain what will be the future of the once proud union going forward.

For the Pumas, this is something they now can build on for next year as it was a very disappointing season.
