Racing 92 have setup a mouthwatering semi-final clash next week against Saracens after the made small work of Clermont in their quarter-final clash on Saturday.
They beat them eventually 36-27 after leading at halftime 24-8.
It was Finn Russell that sent Louis Dupichot over for the first of two tries in the opening forty minutes. A chip and collect from Trinh-Duc opened up a 16-point lead for Racing at the break.
Clermont did come back with tries by Damian Penaud, Kotaro Matsushima and Wesley Fofana but could not close the gap.
Clermont outscore Racing with four tries to two but the boot of Iribaren made the difference on the night adding 20 points for his side.
Now it is Saracens next week in the semi’s and the last time Racing played against the champions was in the 2016 final.
