Lions ensured a semi final clash with Province next week at Newlands after beating Free State 44-17 on Saturday.
The Lions had a great start againt he Free State and put huge pressure on with great interplay between forward and backs.
The took not long to get over for their first try with Skosan at the end of some freat hands in the corner.
The Lions quickly extend the lead with a penalty to 10-0 with the Free State getting on the board with a penalty of their own.
The Lions kept the presure on and played in the Free State half but were shocked with an intercept try from Mapimpi which reduced their lead to 13-10 after 39 min.
The second half it was just Lions as they took their opertunities and the Free State never really had enough time on the ball.
The Lions run tries and dominated play in almost every aspect of the match with their backline running into space with some great handling.
It all started with a strong run down the line by Brink. That made the lead just to much for the Free State to catch up.
The Lions were not finished with Springbok team mates Marx and Skosan combining to send Skosan over for his second of the match after a great break by Marx and even better offload to Skosan.
Two more tries where scored by the Lions with Kwagga Smith going over as well as Kruger after the hooter.
This ensured a showdown next week against Province in the semi’s
