With the Sport Minister Nathi Mthethwa given rugby the green light, SA Rugby CEO Jurie Roux has announced that rugby may return as soon as the first and second week of September.
This will be under strict conditions being met by all players and franchises.
Off course this will be playing at empty stadiums with only a limited number of people allowed to attend the games as essential service but it is a return of the game and we are happy.
SA Rugby has been working hard with government to ensure that rugby can return in a safe environment and were working closely with government.
How the competition will be structured, SA Rugby said that they have a few ideas and will announce the structure off the competition in due time.
The Bulls, Lions, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs, Southern Kings, Griquas and Pumas have all started with non-contact training and it is expected that we will see all off them in the competition.
All we know is rugby is returning in September and we could not be happier
