The Sharks started very well as they Blue Bulls made some nervous decisions being made in own twenty-two.

The Sharks quickly went into a 14-point lead with two tries in the first few minutes. It did not look good for the Bulls but they did come back with a try and a two penalties to bring the scores to 14-13.

The Bulls lost also a man to the bin for some silly play and where put under huge pressure from the Sharks.

That pressure amount to mistakes and the Sharks third try of the match to take the lead to 21-13.

The Blue Bulls tried all they could, but another mistake gave the Sharks another try just before halftime to lead at the break 28-13.

The Bulls did come back in the second half but the Sharks were every time able to hit back.

Flyhalf Curwin Bosch was on target with all four conversions and as well as two penalties and a drop goal for a personal haul of 17 points.

The Blue Bulls replied with three tries by prop Pierre Schoeman, scrumhalf Ivan van Zyl and centre Burger Odendaal.

Flyhalf Marnitz Boshoff added all three conversions as well as two penalties.

The Sharks will host the winner of Saturday’s second semi-final between Western Province and the Golden Lions in Durban next Saturday.

  1. Ruhan Botha is a machine, I sincerely hopes he gets a shot a higher honours sooner rather than later. He has been playing a lot better rugby than Lood and would make a bigger impact with the Boks than Lood in my opinion.
