The Cell C Sharks final got a win over the Steval Pumas in Durban on Saturday when they beat them 27-26.
A real stop start affair with both teams making so many mistakes which does not allow them to put real attacking phases together.
The Sharks were able to score the first try through a lovely break by Cobus Reinach to send Mjekevu away and score in the corner. That gave the Sharks a well deserve 7 point lead as they did most of the play until then.
Reinach was then showed a yellow card for taken a player out a not retreating 10 meters from a penalty.
The Pumas showed some better play and core a try of their own to take the score to 7 all before some penalties was traded between the two teams.
The Pumas had a last penalty just before the break and went into a lead of 13-10. Both teams did not had a great first half and both teams had to bring a better game into the second half.
The second half did produce some better play from both team and we also saw a better brand of play with the Pumas starting better from the two. The Sharks was the first to score a try in the second half and took and the lead again from the Pumas who got a penalty over after halftime.
The Pumas was able to disrupt the Sharks play yet again and then took a try back from another mistake from the Sharks.
The Pumas took the lead to 23 -17 and got another penalty over to take the lead to 26-17. The Sharks did get another try and penalty to get back into the lead 27-26 with a few minutes to go.
And finally the Sharks were able to hold on and take a win over the Pumas in the Currie Cup.
