It is official, Francois Steyn will make the same full circle as Ruan Pienaar and comeback where it all started for him.
The Cheetahs has confirm that Steyn have join the PRO14 franchise on a 2-year deal which will see him back in Bloemfontein.
Harold Vester, managing director of Free State Rugby, confirmed that Steyn will join the Bloemfontein-based outfit.
“We are delighted to announce that Frans Steyn has signed a 2-year agreement with the Cheetahs, starting on 1 July 2020,” said Verster.
Steyn went to school in Bloemfontein, at Grey College before he moved to the Sharks straight after school in 2006. He moved to Racing 92 in 2009 but returned to the Sharks in 2012.
The Springbok also had a stint at Toshiba Brave Lupus before he moved to Montpellier in 2016.
Steyn has two World Cup medals and has been a vital player in last years World Cup squad of Rassie Erasmus.
