In their first game of the Super Rugby Aotearoa, the Crusaders register a great away win over the Hurricanes on Sunday beating them 39-25.
The Crusaders started how they left off Super Rugby running the ball from their own half after anther poor lineout from the Hurricanes to send Reece over for the first try.
This gave the Saders a 7-0 lead after just 1 minute into the game.
The Hurricanes got into the Crusaders half and forced a penalty to get their first points on the board and reduced the lead to 7-3.
With the Crusaders back into the Canes half they worked the ball through the hands and with a little kick through Braydon Ennor got his first of the match.
This extend the lead for the visitors to 12-3 again.
The Hurricanes answered back with another penalty to reduced the lead again by three points. They added another penalty to take the lead of the Crusaders to only 12-9.
It seems in New Zealand they released that drop goals are means points with Hurricanes Bachop getting one over to even the scores at 12-all.
The Crusaders quickly restore normality with a third try from Goodhue taking the lead again with 19-12. The Hurricanes answered back again with the boot off Bachop reducing the lead to 19-15 after 35 min.
The teams went into halftime with the Crusaders leading with that 4 points.
At the start off the second half the Hurricanes made it a one point game when they kicked another penalty but the Crusaders were quick to counter that with a penalty off their own to make the scoreboard ticking over to 22-18.
That lead was extended to 25-18 with another penalty from Mo’unga.
We then saw a brilliant team try from the home side ending with Asafo Aumua getting over the line.
With the scores locked at 25-all and ten minutes left in the game the Crusaders just moved up a gear scoring two tries through Mo’unga and Havili.
This took the game away from the Hurricanes who ended week 2 with their second defeat off the competition.
The Crusaders with their first outing will be pleased with the effort but still allot to work on.
