Super Rugby Aotearoa – Hurricanes end season with a bang

The Hurricanes ended the season with an impressive win over the Highlanders on Friday, beating them 41-22.

As we expected, the match was a hard-fought contest between the two side which had no barring on next weekend final. The two sides were close on the scoreboard till the last ten minutes when the home side pulled away.

At the end no one can argue with six tries to three as the Hurricanes was full value for only their second win in the competition.

The win also did not take the Hurricanes from the bottom of the log and will still see this as a very disappointing season but will take a lot into the Trans-Tasman competition starting in a couple of weeks.

The Highlanders will be happy enough with their effort this season  having finishing with wins against the Chiefs, Blues and Crusaders  who finished first, second hand third on the log.

Both teams have some work to do before the Trans-Tasman tournament but will have some good wins in the second part of the competition to build on.
