Super Rugby Unlocked – Lions to face Sharks in Durban


There is a bit of some old hands with some new faces in the Emirates Lions side that will open the Vodacom Super Rugby Unlocked tournament on Friday night against the Cell C Sharks in Durban.

We will see the likes of Jaco Visagie, Rabz Maxwane, Burger Odendaal and EW Viljoen that will make their first appearance for the Lions.

All of them joined the Lions during the lockdown period earlier this year.

We will also see Wiehahn Herbst that will get his first game for the Lions as he was named on the bench for Friday nights clash.

Sti Sithole and Sadie will pack down with Visagie in the front row which will be a spicy affair against a good Sharks pack.

Elton Jantjies will captain the side form the number 10 jumper with Smith next to him at nine.

In the midfield we will see Maxane and Dan Kriel with Viljoen, Ulengo and Odendaal as the back three for this weekend.
