It was magical scenes in George when the SWD Eagles came from behind on Friday night to win the Currie Cup Fist Devision against the Eagles.
They turned a 12-point deficit into a 9 point win to lift the trophy for 2018.
It is quit remarkable if you think that the Eagles could not win one match last year to come back in 2018 and take the win at home.
The Eagles started well but they were letting tries through which quickly gave the Valke the lead in the first half.
At one stage we thought that it will be a runaway victory for the visitors but there was something in the water given to the Eagles at halftime.
You do not see a No 8 scoring a hat-rick but that is just what Wayne Wilschut did to steer his side to victory.
It was a very exciting game to watch as both teams played at speed. The Eagles led 15-7 thanks to Wilschut two tries and a penalty from Nel.
The Valke then turned the game on its head with great tries in 10 minutes. They were ripping the SWD defence apart and scored 20 unanswered points.
At the break the host were trailing 27-15 and needed something special which they did.
They were brilliant in the set pieces and the Valke had no answer to their driving mauls.
It was great scenes at the end of the match for the home team and crowd and now they have a chance to get into the Premier Devision.
