The second round of Challenge Cup and Champions Cup matches was played this weekend.

Ulster came out on Friday night and put a powerful display against Clermont beating them 18-13 at Kingspan Stadium.

It was a masterclass performance from Cooney that gave his team the win in what was a hard-fought battle with the French club.

He scored a try, a conversion and kicked two penalties which went a long way to give Ulster their second win after last weeks win over Bath.

Their other try came from Murphy while the French outfit got their points from Laidlaw kicking over two penalties which help them to get away with at least a bonus-point loss.

A late penalty try brought the scores right back to an exciting last few minutes.
