It seems when it comes to WP Rugby it never rains but pour. The cash-strapped Stormers are still struggling to keep their players at the franchise as promising Cobus Wiese is in an advance stage of negotiations with Saracens.
It is know that he is negotiating a five year contract with the club which could see him play for England soon.
The Stormers / WP Rugby has been struggling with their cashflow and ongoing boardroom battles in recent times which doe snot help keeping players in the Cape.
Wiese has been a promising young talent who has played regularly for the Stormers and WP Rugby in the last few years.
Wiese leaving the franchise are the latest after WP Rugby has already lost Eben Etzebeth (to Toulon in France) and Damian de Allende (to Wild Knights in Japan), Dan Kriel (Lions), Corné Fourie (Gloucester, England), Sikhumbuzo Notshe (Sharks), Michael Kumbirai (Sharks), Chris Massyn (Cheetahs), Kobus van Dyk (Eagles, Japan), Craig Barry (Cheetahs) and EW Viljoen (Leicester Tigers, England).
It appears that the franchise is running low on basics such as strapping and water for players and off course the administrators does not want to talk about the problems within WP Rugby.
It is also not all good with the negotiations around the redevelopment of Newlands stadium and the planned move to Cape Town stadium.
Time will let us know what will be the next crises at WP Rugby.
