The Sharks caused a mini upset when they beat Province at Newlands on Saturday 21-20.
Province versus Sharks will always be a tough one and this one was no different as both teams were coming off some great wins the last few weeks.
Every point on the log will be vital to secure that home semi-final spot and these two teams showed that.
It was the Sharks with the first points on the board with a penalty try after Province sacked the driving maul close to the line.
This gave the Sharks a 7-0 lead after just 2 minutes.
Province hit back with one penalty and two tries to take the lead 17-7 after dominating play. It was Jones who spark an attack deep within their own half and ended it off to get Province on the board.
The second Province try was really poor Sharks defence and exteded their lead.
The Sharks came back with some silky skills of their own to score their second try and reduced the lead to only 17-14 which was the score that they went into the break.
Province were first to put on some points in the second half through a penalty to make the score 20-14 after 45 minutes.
The Sharks dominated most of the play in the second half with Province just making to many mistakes on attack.
A yellow card cost Province big time as they gave away their lead with 3 minutes to go as the Sharks scored a converted try to lead 21-20.
The Sharks were able to keep ball in hand at the end and secure a improtant away win over Province.
